1970 Dart Swinger 340

Here are the pics of my '70 Dart Swinger 340. It's a work in progress, so not everything is the way I want it yet, except for underneath the hood. The body has very little rust, so there's not a lot to do there. It needs new rear wheels and interior work, the instrument cluster plastic needs restoration, and I'll be putting a Sure Grip posi back in the 8 3/4 narrow rear end to go with the 3.23 gears. The paint is FE5 Rallye Red. I enlisted Larry Carter with Carters Automotive and Racing in Keys, Oklahoma to rebuild the engine. The block was machined and bored .040 over. Since I had spun a bearing, the original steel crank was replace with a refurbished, polished and balanced steel crank. The original X heads were ported and polished and milled for flatness and new intake and stainless exhaust valves installed. The cam is a Mopar Performance Purple Shaft. It has new forged 10:25:1 compression pistons. It has an Edelbrock Torqer intake, and a new Holly 650 four-barrel carb. Also, new powder coated headers with Flowtech exhaust. It has a column shift 727 TCI built Torqueflite automatic transmission with a shift kit and an 11-inch torque converter with 3,000-rpm stall converter.

BTW, I installed the percussion kit on my C-2 and it sounds GREAT!
